Plagiarism Policy
HISAB: Jurnal Akuntansi Lembaga Keuangan Syariah upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. The journal strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and unethical citation practices in submitted manuscripts.
1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as presenting another person’s ideas, words, data, or creative work as one’s own without proper acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to:
-
Copying text, tables, figures, or data from other sources without proper citation.
-
Paraphrasing substantial portions of another author’s work without clear attribution.
-
Using materials (figures, tables, or concepts) from previously published sources without permission or acknowledgment.
-
Republishing one’s own previously published work (self-plagiarism) without proper reference or justification.
2. Plagiarism Detection
All manuscripts submitted to HISAB are screened using reliable plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate) prior to the peer review process.
-
Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 30% will be automatically rejected or returned to the author(s) for revision.
-
Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit manuscripts to reduce similarity levels by rephrasing duplicated content, ensuring accurate citation, or removing unoriginal material.
3. Editorial Actions on Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage of submission, review, or publication, the editorial board will take appropriate actions based on the level of severity:
-
Minor Plagiarism (e.g., improper citation or short identical phrases): The author(s) will be notified and required to correct the issue before the review process continues.
-
Major Plagiarism (e.g., extensive copying, data duplication, or reproduction of previously published work): The manuscript will be rejected immediately, and the author(s) may be barred from future submissions for a specified period.
-
Post-Publication Detection: If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted, and a formal retraction notice will be published on the journal’s official website.
4. Responsibilities
-
Authors must ensure that all ideas, quotations, and data from other works are properly cited and referenced in accordance with the APA 7th Edition citation style.
-
Editors and reviewers are responsible for identifying potential plagiarism and reporting it to the editorial board for further investigation.
-
The publisher reserves the right to investigate any suspected case of plagiarism and to take appropriate corrective or disciplinary actions when necessary.
