Author Guidelines

1. General Information

SINERGI: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Politeknik Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar. The journal serves as a scientific platform for disseminating the results of community service (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PkM) activities that contribute to community empowerment, capacity building, technology transfer, social innovation, and sustainable development.

The journal welcomes manuscripts that present the implementation and outcomes of community service programs conducted by lecturers, practitioners, researchers, and academics. Manuscripts must be original, have not been published elsewhere, and are not under consideration by other journals.

Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English.

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

SINERGI accepts manuscripts that report community service activities, including but not limited to:

  • Community empowerment programs

  • Technology transfer and appropriate technology implementation

  • Capacity building, training, and mentoring programs

  • Social innovation and applied community-based solutions

  • Educational, economic, health, environmental, and social interventions

  • Institutional strengthening and community-based development programs

Manuscripts must clearly describe the problems faced by the community, the solutions implemented, and the measurable outcomes achieved.

3. Manuscript Preparation

3.1 General Format

Manuscripts must be prepared using the official journal template and comply with the following format:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Paper size: A4 (21 × 29.7 cm)

  • Font: Tahoma

  • Font size: 11–12 pt (depending on section, follow template)

  • Line spacing: Single spacing

  • Alignment: Justified

  • Margins: Follow journal template

  • Manuscript length: approximately 5,000–8,000 words

Authors must use the official SINERGI template (donwload here).

3.2 Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must be organized in the following order:

Title
The title must be clear, concise, informative, and reflect the content of the community service activity. It should not exceed 20 words.

Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
Include full names of all authors without academic titles, institutional affiliations, city, country, and email address of the corresponding author.

Abstract and Abstrak
The manuscript must include an abstract in English and an abstrak in Indonesian (150–250 words each). The abstract should briefly describe:

  • Background and purpose of the activity

  • Methods or approach used

  • Main results

  • Conclusions and impact

Provide 3–5 keywords below the abstract.

1. Pendahuluan (Introduction)
This section explains the background of the community service activity, the problems faced by the partner/community, causes and impacts of the problems, relevance to community needs, brief review of similar programs, proposed solutions, objectives, and expected outcomes.

2. Metode Pelaksanaan (Method of Implementation)
This section describes the implementation methods, including:

  • Location and target community

  • Implementation stages

  • Methods and approaches used

  • Tools, materials, or technologies applied

  • Indicators of success and evaluation methods

3. Hasil dan Pembahasan (Results and Discussion)
This section presents the results of the activity and discusses:

  • Implementation outcomes

  • Changes or improvements achieved

  • Comparison between conditions before and after the program

  • Analysis of effectiveness

  • Supporting and inhibiting factors

Tables, figures, and documentation may be included to support the findings.

4. Kesimpulan (Conclusion)
This section summarizes the main results and impact of the activity and highlights its contribution to community empowerment and sustainability.

References (Daftar Pustaka)
This section lists all sources cited in the manuscript.

4. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially.

  • Table titles are placed above the table; figure captions are placed below the figure.

  • All tables and figures must be cited in the text.

  • Include the source if applicable.

  • Images must be clear and in JPG or PNG format.

5. Citations and References

SINERGI uses the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition citation style.

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

6. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS).

The submission must include:

  • Manuscript file (using journal template)

  • Complete author information

  • Abstract and keywords

7. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

The review process includes:

  1. Initial screening by the editorial team

  2. Review by independent reviewers

  3. Editorial decision based on reviewer recommendations:

    • Accepted

    • Accepted with minor revisions

    • Accepted with major revisions

    • Rejected

Authors must revise their manuscripts according to reviewer comments.

8. Publication Ethics

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and free from plagiarism

  • The manuscript has not been published elsewhere

  • All authors have contributed significantly

  • All sources are properly cited

  • Any conflicts of interest are disclosed

The journal follows ethical standards in accordance with international publication ethics guidelines.

9. Publication Frequency

SINERGI: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat is published twice a year.

10. Publication Fees

Currently, no submission or publication fees (APC) are charged. All accepted articles are published free of charge.
